FAQs

Whether you're seeking help for yourself, your family, or a loved one, we're here to provide guidance and answers to assist you in making informed decisions. You can also call our office at (865) 281-1830 or send a message.

  • We work with children, teens, men, and their families. Our clients are ages 8 and up.

Whether the transition is from middle school to high school, high school to college or career, home after wilderness therapy or outpatient treatment, or a change in careers, everyone can benefit from having someone to talk to as they gain their footing in a new direction. We specialize in helping individuals figure out the best next step when they aren’t sure what path to take.

Most often, clients are struggling with difficulties related to depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

  • Contact the ManMade Group office at (865) 281-1830 or complete the contact form online. We will ask that you tell us a little bit about yourself or your child. If we think we can help, we will schedule a free, 30-minute consultation with you.

  • The most important factor in a therapeutic relationship is the relationship itself. This consultation allows you, or your child, to get to know one of our counselors to see if it’s a good match for future sessions.

For minors, guardians can join if they would like, but we recommend deferring to your child’s preference.

By the end of the consultation, we want to understand your goals and we will outline how we can best support you in a therapeutic setting.

Once you have your 30-minute consultation and decide that you want to move forward, just contact us and we will add you to the counselor’s schedule. We will ask that you complete intake paperwork that will ask for basic contact and background information.

  • ManMade Group is in network with Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, United Healthcare, United Medical Resources (UMR), and Optum.

Please view the Team page to ensure your desired counselor is in network with your insurance company.

If you have a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan, a Health Savings Account (HSA), or other flexible health care benefits, you may be able to process your appointments as an out-of-network claim and receive full or partial reimbursement. We will provide a Superbill which is a very detailed receipt which you can forward to your insurance company for processing after you have paid for the session in full.

Every insurance plan is different. We highly recommend verifying your coverage for outpatient behavioral health benefits with your insurance company before scheduling your 30-minute consultation. If you need help or guidance, call our office at (865) 281-1830.

Please note, mentoring outings and parent coaching are not eligible for insurance reimbursement.

Our private pay rate ranges from $125.00 to $150.00 and depends on the provider.

  • Yes. You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate in writing for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services at least one (1) business day before your first appointment (this does not include your 30-minute free consultation). You can also ask for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule your first appointment.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400.00 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (800) 985-3059.

  • While traditional in-office therapy is very effective, some teens can benefit from a more hands-on approach. Mentoring allows for enhanced relationship building and is less formal and more experiential.

Mentoring typically includes multi-hour visits between two and four hours that occur outside of the office. Ideal candidates for mentoring include teenagers with non-traditional learning styles, a history of negative engagement with adult caregivers, and/or a particular affinity for connection through the outdoors. Also, individuals leaving wilderness or intensive treatment programs.

Our therapy services are closer to the traditional model and consist of 53-minute weekly meetings. Whenever it makes sense, we integrate elements of mentoring that focus on relationship building and positive interactions that can include activities and the outdoors.
